So we ended replacing our old 1996 tube TV with a brand new "smart tv" or whatever and the amount of stuff this does is mind boggling! I'm watching Top Gear online while posting this in a tiny little subscreen. From a TV! I believe this jump from 1996 technology to 2014 technology is making me go through a tech-shock. I don't know what is real anymore...

Did you know that phones can access the internet now too?

Yeah, I mean, I get my phones on those 1-2 year contracts, so I kind of kept to date on smartphones. Crappy, low end smartphones, but still smartphones. TVs, on the other hand, all I had was a 1996 Sony Trinitron, which has... well, channels and that's it.

I just recently upgraded to an LCD screen (not even a TV mind you, a monitor ) so I can sort of reciprocate your wonder. For me it was getting an HD TV for the first time last year.
